Job overview

It’s an exciting time to join the NHS Wales Health Collaborative. Our organisation is growing and evolving and soon we will become part of the NHS Wales Executive.

The Executive will bring together existing expertise and capacity from national bodies in the NHS in Wales - the Delivery Unit, the Finance Delivery Unit, Improvement Cymru, and us, the Health Collaborative, and will operate under a direct mandate from Welsh Government.

We work on behalf of the health boards, trusts and special health authorities that make up NHS Wales. Through enabling engagement, networking and collaboration between our NHS partners and other stakeholders, we support the improvement of NHS Wales’ services across organisational boundaries to improve the quality of care for patients.

From perinatal care to end of life care and everything in between, our teams cover a broad range of clinical networks, national programmes and projects, major conditions implementation groups, and support functions. We help to plan, shape and make recommendations on NHS services across Wales.

The Collaborative is hosted by Public Health Wales, on behalf of NHS Wales. Our work plan is shaped in a number of ways and its scope continues to grow, year on year. The majority of our work plan comprises the priorities agreed through clinical network boards, major conditions implementation groups and national programme boards.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the Communications and Welsh Language Co-ordinator’s job is to support the Collaborative’s Communications team.  You will need to be fully bilingual in Welsh and English, and will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of communications strategies and compliance with the Welsh Language Act.

Applicants are invited to apply in Welsh, any application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application made in English. To support our all Wales service, we particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers.
