This is a fixed term post for 12 months, due to funding.

The National Endoscopy Programme has recently been established and is tasked with developing sustainable improvements to endoscopy services in Wales in order to achieve early detection of cancer, optimization of the bowel screening programme and delivery of the Single Cancer Pathway. The Programme is nationally directed by the Welsh Government and overseen by a Programme Board, which is co-chaired by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for NHS Wales and the Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Welsh Government. A Programme Management Group and four sub-groups have been established to drive operational change.

The Programme is looking to appoint a Senior Informatics and Data Specialist to work with the Programme Lead and Clinical Leads to drive improvement in all areas of endoscopy services. The post holder will play a crucial role in supporting local informatics teams to develop the ability to receive electronic referrals, view endoscopy reports electronically and to upload data onto the National Endoscopy Database.

The posts have a tenure of 12 months from appointment (likely to be until the end of October 2020).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
