Senior Public Health Researcher,

Research & Evaluation Division, Public Health Wales

This is a fixed term post for 3 years (with potential to extend to 5 years) due to funding.

If you are an Public Health Wales employee this post will only be offered on a secondment basis and you will need to have gained your line managers approval for the secondment prior to going to interview.

This is an exciting new opportunity to join the Research and Evaluation Division within Public Health Wales (based in Cardiff), as a Senior Researcher linked to the National Centre for Population Health & Wellbeing Research Centre (NCPHWR). In this role you will be responsible for delivering innovative research and evaluation programmes, realising the potential of linked data, to deliver insights to improve population health in Wales.

The right person for the role will have experience in the analysis of large datasets (preferably in health or social care) and an ability to apply their transferrable skills in epidemiology, statistics, operational evaluation or research, analytics and/or related informatics.

If appointed, you will join a supportive and multi-disciplinary team, working across organisational boundaries, applying your skills to complex public health challenges and sharing findings with others.

The successful candidate will have a curious mind, excellent analytical skills, an aptitude to problem solve, and be motivated by delivering robust academic evidence to inform action.
