An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NHS Wales Finance Delivery Unit as a Business Analyst, You will be joining an innovative and award winning team that is passionate about delivering value within NHS Wales, offering insights to the wider system by triangulating patient outcomes, financial data and healthcare activity, supporting financial sustainability and improvement across the system.

As the profile and reputation of the Finance Delivery Unit has grown since its inception, so has the demand for its expertise and insight. We are expanding the team in a number of key areas, including analytics, informatics, data science and financial management and strategy.

Main duties of the job

Business Analyst 

Your responsibilities will include playing a pivotal role in producing robust and effective financial analysis & intelligence in order to contribute to the Unit’s delivery objectives. The post holder is a finance trainee within the Unit, supporting the Assistant Directors in the robust monitoring of in-year delivery plans and key areas of delivery. This includes the development of monthly reports for organisations analysing financial trends and the application of analysis tools to scenario test and risk assess organisations’ performance and forecasts.

  • Part/Full Qualified CCAB/CIMA with a commitment to completing the professional qualification
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
